The Exclusive Halloween Egg has four pets, but the one you want depends on what your garden actually needs. Frank gets plenty of attention for fruit, while Dire Wolf brings moon rolls and wild animals. Gargoyle and Skeleton Horse aren’t just filler, either. Before spending on the egg or browsing Grow a Garden 2 Items, check the live egg menu: the stated Halloween pass date is October 1, 2026, and availability, prices, and abilities may change. I’d also keep some Sheckles aside for seeds. A rare hatch feels great, but an empty garden won’t do much with it.

      What the pets actually do

Gargoyle handles garden defense. Its base petrify chance is 35 percent, with a four-second effect and a twenty-second cooldown. After a successful proc, the thief gets six seconds of immunity, so another attempt during that window won’t help. Big raises the listed chance to 70 percent, and Mega pushes it to 90 percent. Rainbow also adds a bonus; one published figure puts a Rainbow Gargoyle at roughly 43.75 percent before the Mega cap applies. Skeleton Horse does a different job. It searches for skeletons within 60 studs, takes roughly eight seconds to finish one, and earns 300 Candy Corn per kill. Its base cooldown is 60 seconds, while its trample radius grows from four to eight studs with size. Keep an eye on boosts when comparing income, since they can change the effective cooldown.

Dire Wolf howls on a 60-second base cycle and summons wild animals when a moon rises. Normal, Big, and Mega versions bring five, eight, and twelve animals respectively. Their listed Blood Moon chances are three, six, and nine percent, in that same order. The catch is the server-wide 50-minute Blood Moon cooldown. Your howl can come up while another player’s recent moon still has the server waiting. Frank, meanwhile, sends lightning from one fruit to three more. The chain reaches the same number of extra fruit at every size, but its cooldown changes: Mega is 30 seconds, Big is 45, and Normal is 90. If you’ve already built around lightning-friendly crops, Frank has a clear job. If not, think about the fruit layout before treating it as an automatic upgrade.

      A sensible hatch routine

      1. Check the egg menu and set a spending limit.

      2. Hatch five eggs and note each pet and size.

      3. Review your garden needs before buying another batch.

Reality check: five eggs won’t prove the odds have changed, even when every hatch feels like another Gargoyle.

      Reading the odds

Here’s the published pet pool, ordered from the rarest result to the most common. The percentages add up to 99.98 percent, so there’s a small rounding gap. Don’t use a handful of hatches to judge whether the pool has shifted. A run of common pets can happen without any change to the egg, and it’s easy to spend more than planned while trying to make a short session look average.

      Pet Rarity Hatch chance

      Frank Mythic 0.39 percent

      Dire Wolf Legendary 9.47 percent

      Skeleton Horse Uncommon 39.88 percent

      Gargoyle Common 50.24 percent

Size and Rainbow are separate rolls listed at 0.1 percent for Mega, five percent for Rainbow, and ten percent for Big. Big is the practical upgrade to hope for; Mega is a lovely surprise, not a budget. If you’ve got a Skeleton Horse already, give it time during a skeleton-heavy session and watch the Candy Corn come in.

      About those moon attempts

A friend asked whether several Dire Wolves could keep starting Blood Moons on the same server. It’s a fair question when everyone hears a howl and waits for the sky to change.

No, there’s a shared cooldown after a Blood Moon. Note when one happens, then plan your next attempt around that timer.

Make the hatch fit your garden

I’d pair Gargoyle with Skeleton Horse when defense and Candy Corn are the immediate priorities, then test Dire Wolf or Frank as the garden changes. A quiet server makes it easier to track howl times, and a known fruit layout helps you see Frank’s extra lightning targets. Check the pet screen after updates, too; ability text can change. If you’re comparing cheap GAG 2 Pets with another egg session, leave enough Sheckles for seed restocks and check the current trading rules before counting on duplicates having value.
